Having grown up in Sydney, Australia I developed a natural love of swimming and open water. This was mainly due to having a Dad who had been a surf lifesaver at North Collaroy beach in his youth! I was inspired to take up triathlon when it became an Olympic sport in my home town of Sydney in 2000, and have enjoyed international racing and training for over a decade. I represented GB at age group World and European Championships 2003-2006, with peak performances in the same week to win ‘the double’ in Lausanne Switzerland, becoming ITU Aquathlon and Triathlon Champion.
Since 2007 I have continued to work full-time alongside the challenges of racing and training for long course triathlon, producing a top ten age-group finish at the World Championships in Kona Hawaii. I’ve consistently finished top ten overall in the female Pro ranks.
My coaching has developed from a part-time capacity in 2007 to full-time since 2010 as a BTF Level 3 qualified coach. I’ve enjoyed working with world class athletes and coaches throughout my decade in the sport, and developed a systematic, scientific and individual approach to coaching athletes of all abilities. I regularly write for triathlon and open water swimming publications such as 220Triathlon and H20pen magazines, and provide training courses, training days and camps for groups. My recent trip to Perth to complete the SwimSmooth certification provided a great opportunity to spend some long overdue time in the town I was born, Cottesloe!
