​Once a member of the Great Britain Student’s rugby league team, I am always keen to try new activities and sports. These days I like to weight train, do kick boxing, do the occasional run and can often be found practicing handstands. I’ve entered my first obstacle race – Spartan 5km which I am looking forward to.

Since I was young I was always into ‘moving’ whether it be swimming, running or climbing trees. After growing up a bit my passion for fitness, health and movement has developed and I now enjoy a number of sports alongside my training. Climbing is a huge love of mine and I boulder/climb regularly indoors and outdoors as much as possible. Sticking with the mountain theme, skiing is another passion of mine which grew even more whilst working as a chalet chef/ski guide in the French Alps.

 

I started professionally within the health and fitness field by studying for a degree in Sport and Exercise Science. Following this I worked in a gym which gave me a good insight into the industry and the pitfalls of trying to lose weight in a gym (the lack of information-particularly on nutrition, the unnecessary equipment not to mention the time taken to get to the gym). I have always had an interest in being active from climbing trees as a kid to competitive sports and horse-riding through school and university, even representing the University of Nottingham in women’s football. However, when I graduated and settled into an office job the client-entertaining and sedentary lifestyle took its toll and she piled on the weight.

 

In 2012 I took on the London Triathlon as a personal challenge and it kickstarted her into getting fit again, losing nearly 2 stone in the process. I have since continued to challenge herself physically and mentally, qualifying as a Level 3 Personal Trainer at the beginning of 2015.
